Today it is difficult to imagine classical music without Vivaldi, whose compositions effectively combine melody and drama. It is strange that even a hundred years ago he was considered an insignificant composer. But Bach immediately understood the scale of his Venetian colleague and willingly rearranged his violin works for the organ.

In the cathedral on Malaya Gruzinskaya, the Concerto in A minor arranged by Bach will be performed, as well as the beautiful Venetian love serenata “Gloria and Hymen”, written on the occasion of the wedding of the French King Louis XV. The choice of voices is unusual: it is a low female voice – a mezzo-soprano and the highest of the male ones – a countertenor.
