The Via Traviata is still uninhabited. Not a single building lines the path yet. Especially not a prohibition sign. Nothing is certain. Only the wind sweeps through the empty alley and whistles to itself. Sure, Verdi’s »La Traviata«. It’s just a hit. It attracts a few dancers who stroll down the empty street dancing. They dare to experiment. Every step she takes, every movement makes the music more visible – spatially, physically, sensually. People interested in dancing join them. More and more passers-by. Forget their spectator role and get involved. Together they develop a dance-like cartography of this now lively Via Traviata. Prepare the way to a new BodyOpera. But that’s not how I imagined my opera to be, you can hear Giuseppe say – with a clear Italian accent. Exactly, the dancing bodies reply
