ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The production of “Salome” under the direction of Olħerts Šalkoņis took place in 1981.
Arnolds Klotiņš writes the following words in his review:
“We won’t exactly call this performance a sensation, but it is an excellent one and one of the best performances of opera in recent years. The biggest merits here go to the orchestra led by Aleksandar Viļumanis – precision of details, artistically transparent playing, as well as to the performers of the main roles. Solveigas Raja Salome’s musical and choreographic plasticity is a phenomenon rarely seen on the opera stage.”
