Synopsis
During the first wave of COVID, Kia, (THE RAPPER) a young rapper in Montreal is editing her music video when a friend texts her with a link to a facebook post by the rapper’s mother (THE NURSE) who is a nurse at an understaffed long-term care home where elderly patients with COVID-19 are dying nightly. The nurse is despondent as she prepares to go to work and asks Kia to come assist her as a volunteer. Kia does not want to go. Kia then stumbles on a historic film on YouTube, a 1939 interview with another nurse (THE REVOLUTIONARY) who worked through the 1918 pandemic and fought in the Spanish Civil War. Inspired, Kia finishes working on her video and leaves to help her mother.
