ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
Opus Lirica presents Mozart’s Requiem at the Kursaal Donostia Auditorium within the opera season and in an uncertain time where the pandemic has shown us how vulnerable human beings are to something as minuscule as a virus, which turns into sadness, desolation, anguish and death. The destruction of the hearts of hundreds and hundreds of families.
From Opus Lirica we want to pay a heartfelt tribute to all those people who are no longer with us, but also a message of hope and a warm hug through music , for all those who have lost a loved one, as well as for those who who struggle to care for those who are.
On this occasion, within the Donostia Opera Season , we wanted to represent Mozart ‘s Requiem , with a very innovative staging , in which the scenery plays an important role, more than ever: it represents the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse.
Opposite them are the choir, soloists and orchestra, representing humanity. A humanity that fights to correct its mistakes and put an end to the horror created.
All the scenes take place in a ” Styx Lagoon ” in which you have to break the myth, buy the boatman to go to the underworld or go to glory.
This staged version by Opus Lirica and Own Stage aims to excite and make an audience vibrate, who will also be able to take part in the production a few days before, choosing the ending of the Requiem themselves.
