ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The second investigation of the cycle “The Secret of the Fatal Work” will be devoted to “Requiem” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Fragments from Requiem, scenes from the operas Abductions from the Seraglio and The Magic Flute, Masonic cantata Die Maurerfreude, Little Night Serenade Symphony No. 41 Jupiter will be performed. The concert program also included excerpts from Requiem by Antonio Salieri, Paris Symphonies and excerpts from the oratorio The Four Seasons by Joseph Haydn, Turkish Ceremony from Jean-Baptiste Lully’s The Tradesman in the Nobility.
The cycle of concerts “The Secret of the Fatal Work” is a new format on the concert stage. This is an attempt to synthesize a detective play, a musical novel and a concert program. The theme of each of the four concertos of the cycle is an investigation into the context of writing the works of the great masters of classical music. The cycle is based on the work of four composers, whose latest works are surrounded by myths and legends, allow for mystical interpretation and most clearly demonstrate the mysterious inextricable link between the creator and creation: Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Giacomo Puccini. The dramaturgy of each of the concert-performances is stylized as a cultural detective with all the attributes inherent in the genre: an investigator, witnesses, documents and artifacts. Musical works will serve as the latter.
