ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The extraordinary thing about this performance: Stockhausen’s composition “Gesang der Jünglinge”, which takes up a biblical theme from the Book of Daniel, is inserted between the Gloria and the Credo in the Missa Solemnis. The sound direction for this is done by Juan Andrès Verdaguer. According to the composer’s wishes, the premiere in 1956 should also take place in Cologne Cathedral, but at that time had to move to the WDR Funkhaus. Now the work has finally found its way into the cathedral.
