ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The idea of the opera “Macondo” was inspired by the Gabriel Garcia Marquez short story “Monologue of Isabel watching it rain in Macondo” and dedicated to the memory of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The music and visual parts were made by the composer-photographer, Olga Krashenko, who is a composer-performer in the CLSI. The libretto was written with a mixture of Russian words, syllables and phonemes. The pre-recorded music involves string and flute orchestras, choir, an ensemble of recorders, an instrumental trio and concrete sounds.
