ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
L’ocell redemptor is a show far removed from what could be considered opera, despite containing voice and instruments. With a technological construction worthy of the 80s and 90s of the last century (possible heir to La Fura dels Baus), the staging shows a cube in the center of the Saló dels Miralls with cables that connect it to the ends of the room in in which a humanoid figure declaims numbers and concepts while transiting through space. The text, almost without content, gives wings to the numerous crescendiof the music, but strange acoustics and electronic distortion of the voice and instruments make the text impossible to understand and follow. And with music that is at the same time very abstract and spectral, it leaves a bitter taste, of disorientation despite the good ideas. The robotic humanoid (the redemptive bird of the title) is reminiscent of the biotechnological world of the movie The Fifth Element , but unfortunately it has not been able to give the necessary depth or characterization to make it interesting to follow. The soprano Adriana Aranda is very dedicated in the only character in the work.
