ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
In the opera studio of the National Music Academy of Ukraine (in the great hall named after the Hero of Ukraine Vasyl Slipak), the Kyiv premiere of the lyrical-comic opera by the Dnipro composer Valentina Martyniuk “Like in the distant past” took place.
Honored artist of Ukraine, professor of the department of musical art of KNUKiM Nataliya Krechko was the choirmaster-director of the premiere performance of the opera. The academic choir “ANIMA” of KNUKiM, whose artistic director and chief conductor is N. Krechko, not only sang on stage, but was also one of the main acting “characters” on stage and also danced a lot!
The Kyiv premiere of V. Martynyuk’s lyrical and comic opera “Like in the distant past” was the diploma work of director-producer Kateryna Marunets and conductor-producer Anton Bulanenko. Everything was concentrated in one place and time – the energy of young performers and directors and the experience and skill of the “adult” members of the team. Everyone watched the lyrical line of love of Hnat and Hannusi, rejoiced when the couple in love was able to help Khimochka and Andriyka, danced and sang along with Shynkarka, and laughed at the telepnem Omelko. “Ukraine laughs and does not give up!” – a beautiful finale, which began in complete darkness (because the lights were suddenly turned off), and immediately – hundreds of lights in the hall from the phones. These support lights are worth a lot!
Nataliya Krechko, direct speech on Facebook: “Today in the Opera Studio of the National Academy of Music, the premiere of the lyrical-comic opera “Like in the distant past” took place, for which our choir had been preparing for several months! I am proud of our students, their enthusiasm and creative abilities! The opera is interesting, “youthful”, cheerful and lyrical, with beautiful, bright melodies and orchestration. Composer Valentyna Martyniuk, librettists Hanna Khananayeva and Nataliya Kotenenko. The performance took place thanks to the energy and talent of very young artists. The director of the play and the organizer of the production is Kateryna Murenets. It was her bachelor’s exam, and therefore the organizational skills and bright individual vision of the artistic concept of such a young person are particularly impressive. Academy student Anton Bulanenko conducts. It was very interesting and pleasant to work with them. Both of them are burning with creativity, desire to work with quality and benevolence. It is also nice to note that the solo parts were sung by our graduates Alina Serdek and Ruslana Semenyuk. They looked very dignified next to experienced artists. I congratulate the girls on successful debuts!
