ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
Kudykamis a play in verse that is part sung and part spoken: with a bit of exaggeration “theatre one poem”. The plot is the spiritual journey of the hero (Martin), whom we meet at the beginning in his room “Pension Svět”. Should he be satisfied with his “certain” or lean into the uncertainty and the whirlwind of opportunities and threats that he rightly suspects behind the door of his room? Is he supposed to follow the uncle who once allegedly embarked on such a journey and who is said to have reached from the fifth basement to somewhere immeasurably high, perhaps to the ground floor? And if he is to decide to do it, will he know where and where? As soon as Martin asks himself that question, he finds himself face to face with his materialized wish in the form of Kudykam – who offers himself as a guide. He promises that he will give Martin proposals for the next course of action, but will leave the choice of specific steps up to him. Martin agrees, and thus becomes a disciple of a truly bizarre Master.
