Il Signor Fagotto is a rarely performed one-act work by Jacques Offenbach. Six characters are on the board, which is rare in this book format. The music is very pleasant and joyful. There are some very beautiful pieces, including the famous “Musician Composer” sung by Fagotto, alias Baccolo the valet, a role played by Audrey Hostein. Mr. Bertolucci (Christian Lara) is a music lover who maintains a close correspondence with “Il signor Fagotto”. This brave Bertolucci has a daughter named Clorinda (Claire Baudouin) who is in love with her music teacher Fabricio (Cyril Fargues). Bertolucci absolutely wants to marry her to an old antique dealer named Caramello (Michel Ballan). The servant, Moschetta (Magali Klippfel), is desperate to see this unholy union. Baccolo, the valet, then imagines a ploy to change Bertolucci’s mind and will make Moschetta promise to marry him if he achieves his goal.
