Frau Holle ensures snow flurries and flower meadow weather. But that’s quite a lot of work. Didn’t she even deserve a break? And these people! They are always dissatisfied: it rains too much on vacation, not enough when gardening, some find it too cold, others too warm. And they don’t care about the environment at all. Holle is tired of her job. When she travels, her duties are taken over by the two assistants named Andy. And soon find out that making rain is more difficult than enjoying the summer sun. Soon they really messed up the weather. And Holle has to help them again and again.
Can we still get the climate crisis under control? And how can we as individuals help? “Holle!” asks these questions without pedagogically expanding on them. Three actors make the children’s opera a turbulent pleasure with mezzo-soprano singing, piano and clarinet. Including theater magic with thunder, clouds, wind. Musically, the trio whizzes through different styles, with lively waltzes, lyrical cantilenas and operetta arias, it is as changeable as the weather.
