ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The performance of an edited version of the comedy “Der Schauspieldirektor” by W.A. Mozart enables the listener to have an immediate opera experience (opera to touch) with their own active participation. The project was conceived for 3rd and 4th graders, but the opera is also suitable for older or younger children and their families. To adapt to the target group, the musical numbers were shortened/rearranged and new arias and recitatives were composed specifically for the new roles. The content of the Singspiel is essentially unchanged, but the subject of money has been replaced by the subject of friendship, which is more tangible for children, and the setting has been placed in a school context.
The project team includes students from the fields of school music, opera and music theory. The participants in the ensemble also study singing, conducting, orchestral music and school music at the HfM.
