ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The Choirs of the Maîtrise de Sainte-Anne-d’Auray sing a Christmas concert recorded by the Academy of Music and Sacred Arts. This concert traditionally offered in the granite setting of the Breton sanctuary was compromised by the health crisis. Good news ! For the holidays, this piece of Brittany is shared thanks to a recording made in December in a basilica sublimated by a magical lighting.
On the program, Christmas hits (He was born the divine child, Between the ox and the gray donkey, Noël nouvelleelet …) interact with the Breton melodies of this time (Peh trouz zou ar en douar …) through a few pieces repertoire (Veni, veni Emmanuel by Zoltan Kodaly, Angels’ carol by John Rutter…). The mystery of the Nativity never ceases to enchant musicians and young singers. From the smallest to the largest, they offer everyone a musical Christmas garland from Brittany and elsewhere.
