ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
As part of the Salzkammergut Festwochen Gmunden, a very special evening of Christmas concerts awaits you in the stables of Kaiservilla Bad Ischl, where folk music and classical music will combine and fuse into a moving whole, according to the idea of Franz Welser-Möst. In a unique constellation, all artists want to deliver their unified Christmas message directly into the hearts of their listeners through sensitive interplay and authentic musical composition. Mezzo-soprano Patricia Nolz and baritone Rafael Fingerlos give their best vocals here. Julia Hagen will perform chamber music as soloist with the Minetti Quartet. The Tschejefem Choir will conclude the concert with a special program of folk music. In addition, bridges will be built across genre ditches – so the quartet of violins will play folk music at the end, while the wind quartet will play “Adeste Fideles” and Rafael Fingerlos will play diatonic accordion. Concert night with the Salzburg Wind Quartet. From the literature of Michael Haydn to carols, yodeling or horns, a contemplative program sounds to get the Christmas heart racing. As a very special treat, the shepherd children of the Salzburg Shepherds Advent will present an interlude of singing and playing in the middle of the programme. The dramatic arc stretches from absolute Schubert pearls to the famous Christmas carols – ballads and art songs combined with folk music of the highest level.
