ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
A walk through the notorious opera house, which turns into a frenzied run while still sober. Why not, when the titular Carmen is not just one in the story, but two! The audience will be introduced to the unadulterated diva of opera Dagmar Pecková and drama Bára Hrzánová. It is therefore not surprising that the meeting of the two Carmens in the premises of an unfortunate innkeeper finds itself right on the border between art and a criminal plot.
“My long-standing friendship with Bára Hrzánová binds me. When I premiered Carmen at the National Theatre, she played Carmen in Řeznická with Mr. Ševčík as a singer. She went to see my Carmen, I went to see hers. I had a lot of fun and said I asked her how to put the two of us together on stage. I told her that I was doing the Zlatá Pecka festival and that I needed the two of us on stage. Her name is Carmen Y Carmen,” says Dagmar Pecková.
