The seventh season of the unique cycle is dedicated to the anniversary date — exactly 300 years ago, Johann Sebastian took up the post of cantor of the Church of St. Thomas in Leipzig, transforming the musical landscape of the city and, ultimately, the entire future history of music. The 2023/24 season will feature cantatas created in Bach’s first year in his new position.
