ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
A Wall of Two is the wrenching true Holocaust survival story using the wonderful and moving poems of two Polish sisters who survived the camps. Sisters Illon and Henia Karmel, who were in their late teens and early 20’s during their internment in Nazi concentration camps, began writing poetry in Polish on forbidden scraps of paper smuggled out of the slave labor factories. Their poems, which allowed them the mental fortitude that helped them survive the war, became an important part of the clandestine cultural life in the camps.
